Name: Dear Darkness

Lineup: Stacey MacLeod, vocals and guitar; Samantha Linn, drums and vocals.

Sound: Their recently-released EP “Get it Here” is a display of crunchy, minimal garage punk with nods to riot grrrl music, and post punk.

History: MacLeod and Linn have been in other bands together, including the short-lived Heaven & Hell Cotillion. Before teaming up with MacLeod, Linn was once the drummer for the established Detroit garage pop band Outrageous Cherry.

Next up: The duo jams at 11 p.m. Friday in the Garden Bowl, 4120 Woodward, Detroit, with Hamtramck garage pop band Prude Boys opening at 10 p.m. There is no cover charge. Dear Darkness will also be part of Foxfest, an event showcasing women musicians and artists on Aug. 27 at the Tangent Gallery and Hastings Street Ballroom in Detroit.
