Ed Sheeran lines up September Little Caesars Arena show
The English singer-songwriter will make his LCA debut on Sept. 27; tickets on sale March 17
Ed Sheeran is hot and ready to play Little Caesars Arena.
The English singer-songwriter will perform at the new downtown arena on Sept. 27, promoters announced on Tuesday.
Tickets, $39.50, $79.50 and $99.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. March 17.
The singer’s recently released third album, “Divide,” obliterated the first-day record for Spotify streams, racking up more than 56 million first day listens, topping the previous record of 29 million set by the Weeknd’s “Starboy.” “Divide” also amassed more than 1 billion streams on YouTube just days after it was uploaded to the service.
Sheeran’s Little Caesars Arena concert will mark his first Detroit show since a Sept. 2014 show at the Palace of Auburn Hills. How times have changed: That show was played to a lower bowl-only crowd, while this one will likely sell out quickly.
Sheeran is the third artist to announce a concert date at Little Caesars Arena. Kid Rock will perform there Sept. 12, 13, 15, 16, 19 and 20, and Lady Gaga hits the stage at the new arena on Nov. 7.
