Mo Pop Fest returns with Alt-J, Run the Jewels, Solange
Foster the People, Tyler the Creator, more headed to fifth annual festival, July 29-30 at Detroit’s West Riverfront Park
Alt-J, Foster the People, Run the Jewels and Solange are among the artists that have been tapped for the fifth annual Mo Pop Festival, July 29 and 30 at Detroit’s West Riverfront Park.
Tyler the Creator, Phantogram,Vance Joy, Wavves, Amine, Pvris and Arkells are also on the lineup for the two-day outdoor festival.
Early bird tickets, $89.50 for weekend passes and $65 for single day admission, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the festival’s website, mopopfestival.com. Tickets go up to $109.50 for weekend passes and $75 for single day admission beginning April 3. Children 12 and younger receive free admission when accompanied by a paid ticket holder.
Mo Pop began in summer 2013 at Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights and returned there the following year before moving to West Riverfront Park in 2015.
Last year’s festival featured artists such as G-Eazy, HAIM and M83. The festival has the distinction of never booking the same artist twice.
Rounding out this year’s lineup are Pup, the Hunna, Mondo Cozmo, Jay Som, the Shadowboxers, White Reaper, Stef Chura, Michigander, Heaters, Humons and the School of Rock AllStars.
The weekend festival will also feature a biergarten with an assortment of local brews, a collection of food trucks and local crafts and tech showcases.
