Paul McCartney to play Little Caesars Arena

Paul McCartney has a one-on-one date with Little Caesars Arena in his future.

The legendary musician and perhaps the world’s most beloved living person will bring his “One on One” tour to the new Detroit arena on Oct. 1, venue officials announced Tuesday.

Tickets for the show, $250, $150, $99.50 and $59.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. May 1 through Ticketmaster, OlympiaEntertainment.com, the Fox Theatre and Joe Louis Arena box offices and by phone at (800) 745-3000.

McCartney’s “One on One” tour launched in April 2016 and has traversed the globe, including stops on four continents. McCartney was also one of the headliners at last year’s Desert Trip, a collection of rock royalty that also included the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Neil Young.

With the announcement, McCartney becomes the fifth artist with a show on the Little Caesars concert calendar. He’ll follow Kid Rock’s six-show run (Sept. 12, 13, 15, 16, 19 and 20) and Ed Sheeran’s Sept. 27 date and will precede Lady Gaga (Nov. 7) and Andrea Bocelli (Dec. 3).

McCartney’s last Detroit concert was a three-hour whopper at Joe Louis Arena in Oct. 2015.
