Journey, Def Leppard teaming up for Comerica Park show
The two rock titans will join forces at the Tigers’ home on July 13; tickets go on sale Feb. 9
Don’t stop believin’, and don’t stop pouring the sugar.
Two of the 1980s biggest rock bands, Journey and Def Leppard, will team up at Comerica Park on July 13, promoters announced Friday.
Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 9 via Ticketmaster.
The Comerica Park concert is one of 10 stadium dates on the two bands’ massive 58-city outing, which will find the two bands alternating headlining sets. The tour will also hit stadiums in Toronto, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis, Boston, St. Louis, San Francisco and San Diego.
The joint outing kicks off May 21 in Hartford, Conn. and wraps Oct. 6 in Los Angeles.
Journey last played the market in Aug. 2016 at DTE Energy Music Theatre, and last year were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Def Leppard’s last area date was a July 2016 concert at DTE.
The concert falls one night before Zac Brown Band’s previously announced show at Comerica Park and during a Detroit Tigers away series in Houston, which leads into Major League Baseball’s All-Star break. The Tigers return home against Boston on July 20.
