Among pop stars, rappers and rockers, the spring concert calendar will also include a visit from actor Bill Murray.

Billed as “Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends: New Worlds” the tour features cellist Vogler and Murray in a “joint program” at Fillmore Detroit April 18.

The tour is in support of “New Worlds” their album of classical music, American standards and literary readings. Murray narrates and Vogler plays the cello. The track listings includes works by Bach, Walt Whitman, Stephen Foster, Ernest Hemingway, George Girshwin, Henry Mancini, and Mark Twain.

Murray, who received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2016, described the collaboration to the New York Times as being “the collision of America and Europe.”
