Kid Rock to release 'Greatest Hits You Never Saw Coming' next month

Kid Rock surprised fans Friday with the announcement of a greatest hits album. 

"Greatest Hits You Never Saw Coming," is set for a Sept. 21 release, and pre-order are being collected now on his website

According to Loudwire, the 15 tracks are all remastered. The album kicks off with his 1998 breakthrough hit "Bawitdaba," which was recorded in Ferndale's Temper Mill Studios.

In the age of streaming, greatest hits collections are still getting traction on the charts. The Billboard 200 chart this week is riddled with best-of collections by artist like Michael Jackson, Queen, Bob Marley and the Wailers, Eminem, ABBA, Journey, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Zac Brown Band all have compilation albums in the top 100. "30 Greatest Hits" by Aretha Franklin, who died Aug. 16, is currently at No. 7. 

Earlier this month Kid Rock celebrated the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough album, his fourth studio album, "Devil Without a Cause." It has sold more than 11 million copies. been certified platinum 11 times.
