Grapevine: WXYZ’s Dave Rexroth debuts new eye
Dave Rexroth has a new prosthetic eye, and WXYZ-TV’s chief meterologist sent photos of himself to the station Friday showing how he looks after surgery. The weatherman lost his left eye in a July 4 fireworks accident in Iowa, and has been off work while he recovers. He’s slated to return to work in late September, but will be “back in the building” Tuesday for a visit, says news director Dave Manney.
Comedian Rivers in induced coma, condition still ‘serious’
Comedian and “Fashion Police” host Joan Rivers, 81, remained in a medically induced coma at New York’s Mount Sinai Hospital Friday after she suffered cardiac arrest during routine throat surgery Thursday morning, according to E! News and other reports. Rivers’ daughter, Melissa Rivers, issued a statement Thursday night after arriving at the hospital from Los Angeles with son Cooper, 13. “I want to thank everyone for the overwhelming love and support for my mother. She is resting comfortably and is with our family. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers.” Rivers had been scheduled to perform Friday at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey.
Seger album tracklist leaked
In case you were wondering what the songs are going to be on that new Bob Seger album, “Ride Out,” due to drop Oct. 14, his social media team posted a hand-scrawled list of what appears to be the track listing. The list was posted on Seger’s Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts. The song titles are abbreviated; the first one listed is “Detroit,” which would be “Detroit Made,” the John Hiatt song released as his first single during Dream Cruise week. Other familiar ones include “Cal Stars” (“California Stars”) and “Roads,” which would be “All the Roads,” which fans heard during his 2013 concerts.
