Two Metro Detroit chefs will be featured on the next season of “Hell’s Kitchen” staring the intense celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Jared Bobkin, 28, is executive chef at Ferndale’s Local Kitchen and Bar in Ferndale. He’s joined by catering chef Hassan Musselmani, who is just 24. They will be put to the test on the competitive reality show, which debuts 9 p.m. Jan. 15 on FOX.

The chefs are among 18 professionals vying to win the position of head chef at BLT Steak at Bally’s in Las Vegas. Along the way they’ll have to compete in culinary challenges and cook for celebrity diners like Kris Jenner, astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Lil Jon, Bill Engvall, Steve Aoki and others.

“This year’s contestants on season 15 are unique,” Ramsay said in a preview for the new season. He says because it’s the 15th season and the competitors are so young, they’ve been watching the show a large portion of their lives. “(They are) diverse hungry, talented, but more importantly, they’re on it and they’re hungry to do well.”
