Grapevine: Jennifer Lawrence suffers backlash at Globes
Jennifer Lawrence criticized for ribbing foreign reporter
Everyone loves Jennifer Lawrence, right? Well, the “Joy” star drew backlash for an incident backstage at the Golden Globes on Sunday, when she took offense to a reporter being on his phone during a press conference following her Best Actress win. “You can’t live your whole life behind your phone, bro,” she said, her words dripping with condescension as she wagged her finger at the journalist. “You’re just not gonna ... You can’t do that. You gotta live in the now.” Several reporters in the room laughed, including the reporter himself, Juan Pablo Fernández-Feo, who works for E! in Argentina, México and Venezuela, according to the Daily Mail. But as he continued his question, asking her about the upcoming Oscars, Lawrence pounced again. “We are at the Golden Globes,” she said, all but rolling her eyes at the reporter. “If you put your phone down, you’d know that.” Given the decidedly sour reaction to the video, which quickly spread across the web, there may be a position for America’s Sweetheart opening up soon.
Madonna declares love for Sean Penn
Over the weekend, Madonna reunited with an old flame — Sean Penn, who was hot off of his world-exclusive interview with Mexican drug lord El Chapo. The pair arrived together, holding hands, at a charity gala in Beverly Hills, California, tied to the Help Haiti Home organization. “I want to say Sean, I love you, from the moment that I laid eyes on you,” Madonna told her ex, whom she was married to from 1985 to 1987, in a speech, according to People.com. “I just wish you’d stop smoking cigarettes.” It’s not the first time the pair have been seen together in recent months. In September, Penn attended Madonna’s concert at Madison Square Garden.
