Ed Sheeran sued for copyright infringement

On Tuesday, Ed Sheeran was sued for copyright infringement of MarvinGaye’s romantic ballad, “Let’s Get It On,” the Washington Post reports. The suit claims that the British singer copied “the ‘heart’ of ‘Let’s’ ” in his chart topper “Thinking Out Loud.” “The melodic, harmonic and rhythmic compositions of ‘Thinking’ are substantially and/or strikingly similar to the drum composition of ‘Let’s,’ ” states the lawsuit from the heirs of Ed Townsend, who co-wrote Gaye’s lyrics for the 1973 song. This is the second time Sheeran was sued for infringement this year. Songwriters Martin Harrington and Thomas Leonard sued him for $20 million in June, alleging Sheeran copied the chorus from their song “Amazing” in his 2015 hit “Photograph.”

Simone Biles wins gold and way to Zac Efron’s heart

It’s no secret USA gymnast Simone Biles has a celebrity crush on Zac Efron. The Olympian who helped the “Final Five” take gold Tuesday in Rio has a life-size cutout of the actor in her bedroom. She told NBC News she sometimes kissed him (meaning the cutout) on the cheek. Efron shared the love back on Twitter this week, tweeting, “So phenomenal a skill’s named after her. Congrats on sticking the Biles and qualifying for the finals @Simone_Biles!” She was probably dying inside, but she casually tweeted back “Thanks Zac! I hope you can watch Team Final tomorrow night.” Zefron came through — tweeting a pic of himself wearing a USA shirt in front a photo of the five gymnasts and cupping his hands in the shape of a heart. “Of course I’m watching the #FinalFive dominate the floor,” he said.

Anne Hathaway speaks out on pregnancy weight

Anne Hathaway has a message for all new moms: “There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all),” she wrote on Instagram. The post includes a photo of a pair of jeans cut into shorts. “There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer’s are just too dang short for this summer’s thighs,” wrote Hathaway, 33, who gave birth to her first child, Jonathan, in March. The actress talked about her post-pregnancy weight on “The Ellen Degeneres Show” in May when she shared an exchange with a fitness trainer, who asked if she was trying to lose the “baby weight.” “I just mustered up my dignity and say, ‘No, it’s a little bit too soon to worry about weight. I’m just trying to regain my strength,’ ” she said. Hathaway’s Instagram post, which has over 160,000 likes, is an empowering reminder for moms fed up with others scrutinizing their weight. “Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It’s all love (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.)”
