Kate Upton opens up about Verlander
Current Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue cover model Kate Upton opened up to “What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen about her relationship with her fiancé, Detroit Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander. A caller bluntly asked Upton, “Which does your fiancé prefer to get his head in the game, sex before or sex after?” and Cohen didn’t let her get out of the question. “There’s no sex before a game. Absolutely none,” Upton said. “And then, also what I just found out is, if he plays too well, there’s no sex after, either. He’s exhausted. Kind of a buzzkill for me!” Upton and Verlander are currently planning their wedding; no date has been announced.
Montgomery Gentry to play Grand Prix
Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix organizers announced Friday that country duo Montgomery Gentry will perform at the race on June 3. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry, who made their debut in 1999 with the single “Hillbilly Shoes,” will entertain on the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment stage on Belle Isle Park just after the Verizon IndyCar Series race. Anyone with a ticket to the Grand Prix on June 3 will be able to attend the concert at no addition cost. Single-day tickets start at $40 and can be purchased at detroitgp.com. “Montgomery Gentry will bring a different kind of sound and energy to the Grand Prix, and we’re very excited to have them perform for our fans and celebrate a fun Saturday night on June 3 at Belle Isle,” said Grand Prix Chairman Bud Denker in a press release. Details of additional entertainment, including a headliner for June 4, will be announced in the next few days, according to the release.
■Mr. T is on board for the next season of “Dancing With the Stars,” Entertainment Tonight has confirmed. Also signing up for duty on the new season, which debuts March 20, is gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles.
■Chivalry is alive! Ed Sheeran was pictured this week carrying his girlfriend Cherry Seaborn’s Louboutins while she wore his sneakers at an afterparty for the Brit Awards, sending fans everywhere swooning. Step it up, dudes; lending your girl your coat is no longer enough. And make sure your socks don’t have holes in them.
