Grapevine: Nick has ‘unconditional love’ for Mariah
Did we ask, Mariah and Nick?
In case you were dying to know, Mariah Carey (47 or 48, depending on whom you believe) and ex-hubby Nick Cannon, 36, are not — repeat, not — sleeping together. Not that there’d be anything wrong with that, Cannon added on “The Wendy Williams Show,” but “that’s not the case … There’s nothing but unconditional love there, but I’m respectful.” Page Six also quoted the rapper/actor saying, “Whatever (Mariah) wants to do in her personal life, I support, I salute.” Now, that’s just nice.
‘Scene’ reunion planned for July
A reunion for the Detroit television dance show “The Scene” will be held July 15 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center. The show ran from 1975-1987 on Detroit’s WGPR-TV and celebrated some of the hottest dance moves — and looks — of the era. The reunion will collect as many performers, producers and fans of the show as possible, and advance ticket holders will be allowed to tour the studio that once housed the show. Tickets to the show, $20, are available at http://thescenereunion.com/.
‘Roseanne’ eyed for small screen comeback
“Roseanne” may be coming back to TV. Deadline.com reports an eight-episode limited revival of the ’90s sitcom is in the works, with Roseanne Barr and John Goodman, both 64, and Sara Gilbert, 42, attached to reprise their roles. It is not yet known where the series will land, although ABC and Netflix are both said to be interested in the project. Next month marks the 20-year anniversary of the “Roseanne” series finale, which drew some 16 million viewers.
Gwen Stefani — ouch!
A ruptured eardrum kept blond bombshell Gwen Stefani, 47, from traveling to Las Vegas to perform in the star-studded “Keep Memory Alive’s Power of Love Gala” Thursday evening, according to a report in Page Six. The gala played a videotaped apology from the songstress, but the audience couldn’t have been too disappointed. Volunteering to stand in for her was Jennifer Hudson, 35, who sang the late LeonardCohen’s epic “Hallelujah” and a Whitney Houston mash-up of “I’m Every Woman” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
An Obama real-estate bump
The Brooklyn townhouse where recent Columbia University-grad Barack Obama lived in the mid-1980s has gone on the market for $4.3 million, according to Yahoo Celebrity. It’s the first time the 109-year-old house in Brooklyn’s fashionable Park Slope neighborhood, just off Prospect Park, has been on the market in 23 years. The future president, of course, was just starting out, and didn’t inhabit the entire 3,860-square-foot house. Obama, now 55, rented the top floor with his then-girlfriend Genevieve Cook.
