Grapevine: Wyandotte youth to compete on Food Network
Wyandotte kid to compete on Food Network show
Caleb Ave-Lallemant of Wayndotte will compete against three other cooking kids on a Monday episode of “Kid’s BBQ Championship” on Food Network. “Food Network Stars” winners Eddie Jackson and Damaris Phillips host the show, which will award the winning young chef $10,000. Monday’s show, which airs at 8 p.m., is the season two premiere, and features guest judge Shannon Ambrosio, host of the Cooking Channel’s “Big Bad BBQ Brawl.”
Simon Cowell will not return to ‘Idol’
Earlier this week ABC announced it will revive “American Idol” one year after Fox canned the singing competition. Later, former Idol judge Simon Cowell told Extra he would not jump on board the reboot. “I was asked to do it, and the answer is no,” he reportedly said. Cowell is now on “American’s Got Talent.” Some wondered if first “American Idol” champion Kelly Clarkson may be a host on the ABC version of the show, but Variety broke the news that the singer has inked a deal as coach for season 14 of “The Voice” on NBC.
Melissa McCarthy lampoons Spicer in NYC streets
It’s a good guess that Melissa McCarthy will bring back her impersonation of White House press secretary Sean Spicer when she hosts “Saturday Night Live” this weekend on NBC. It’s a good guess even for those who didn’t witness the comedian rolling down the street in New York City Friday morning on the motorized podium she uses for her recurring spoof. McCarthy was captured on video cruising through traffic not far from Rockefeller Center, SNL’s headquarters. According to the Associated Press, NBC had no comment on the video.
