ESPN “SportsCenter” host Jemele Hill is calling on a few prominent Detroiters to help kids in the community see “Black Panther.

ESPN host Jemele Hill has called on Eminem, Big Sean, Jalen Rose and Chris Webber to help send children in Detroit see “Black Panther.”

“Would also love @JalenRose @BigSean @Eminem @realchriswebber to join me and making sure kids from our neighborhoods see Black Panther,” Hill tweeted on Tuesday. “We can do this.”

Earlier, Hill said to her 982,000 Twitter followers that she was looking to do her part to help kids see the new Marvel movie, which opens Feb. 16.

“I wish I had time to do it myself but if there is anyone in Detroit trying to take kids in underserved communities to see Black Panther, holla at me,” the native Detroiter wrote on Twitter. She received several responses, including from Invest Detroit Ventures’ Sean Oyewole and YMCA’s Anthony L. Brock Jr., although there is no word yet on plans.

“Black Panther” held its premiere Monday night in Los Angeles and received a strong response from viewers, with several calling it one of Marvel’s best movies to date. Fandango’s Erik Davis called it the “James Bond” of the Marvel universe, saying, “you’ve seen nothing like this in a superhero movie — it’s bold, beautiful & intense, but there’s a depth & spiritualness that is unlike anything Marvel has ever done.”

In recent weeks, efforts have been made to rent out theaters for children in inner-city communities to see the film, which stars Chadwick Boseman and Michael B. Jordan. The film is projected to earn $100-$120 million its opening weekend, though some estimates have it tracking higher. “Deadpool” is the current record holder for highest February opening. The film made $132 million its opening weekend in 2016.

Hill made news recently when she announced she is leaving “SportsCenter” in order to return to reporting, writing, and commentary with ESPN’s The Undefeated. Her last day on air will be Friday.
