Lifestyle guru Martha Stewart made a whirlwind visit to the Motor City on Monday, visiting with fans and hosting a cocktail hour at Joe Muer Seafood in Detroit before jetting back to New York.

Stewart’s visit to Detroit was a business trip with the Editor in Chief of Martha Stewart Living Elizabeth Graves and several other executives of the magazine, said senior publicist Liz Malone.

It included a visit to Dearborn’s The Henry hotel, along with a get-together with Ford Motor Company’s in-house advertising agency where she nibbled on a Roasted Radish Tart, a recipe featured in the April issue of her magazine.

“There were lots of fans, young and old, who wanted to say hello to Martha,” said Malone in an email. “She continues to keep herself and our brand relevant with consumers.”

She also met with GMC, Malone said, and had "a really packed day enjoying the city."

Her visit concluded with a Martha Stewart Cocktail Hour at Joe Muer Seafood.

Stewart is no stranger to Detroit (her home in Maine was originally built for Edsel Ford). She’s visited before and Malone said she always enjoys them. In 2017, she was a keynote speaker at the National Women’s Business Owners Corporation Access Conference. While in town, she visited Pewabic Pottery, Astro Coffee and several other local businesses and landmarks.
