Spice Girl Mel B told the Sun that writing her upcoming book “Brutally Honest,” has been “unbelievably traumatic reliving an emotionally abusive relationship and confronting so many massive issues in my life.” The “America’s Got Talent” judge is going into rehab for her alcohol and sex addictions. “I am being very honest about drinking to numb my pain, but that is just a way a lot of people mask what is really going on,” she said. “Sometimes it is too hard to cope with all the emotions I feel. But the problem has never been about sex or alcohol — it is underneath all that.” The British singer also said she’s been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder and that she has been “financially battered” by her divorce from producer Stephen Belafonte, who she says in divorce documents was physically and emotionally abusive toward her.
Swamp blues player Lazy Lester died
Leslie Carswell Johnson, better known as Lazy Lester, died last week at age 85. The harmonica and guitar bluesman was born in Louisiana, but spent years living in Pontiac. According to an article about his death in the Washington Post, Johnson moved to Michigan in 1975. He died last week at his home in Paradise, California. According to friends, he had been battling stomach cancer.
‘Goldbergs’ actor Jackson Odell died of an accidental overdose
The cause of death for Jackson Odell, 20, has been revealed, months after his June 8 death. The coroner report determined the actor’s death was “acute heroin and cocaine toxicity” and “accidental.” Known for his role as Ari Caldwell on the ABC sitcom “The Goldbergs,” Odell died while staying in a sober living home in June.
