Clarkson fans: Send her to Super Bowl

Is Kelly Clarkson headed for the Super Bowl? She is if fans have their way. After the original "American Idol" performed Monday at the U.S. Open tennis tournament, Twitter users gushed and said the NFL should take notice. Clarkson performed a 10-minute set that saw her bring out six of her top hits, including  "Since You Been Gone," "Miss Independent" and "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)." Fans tweeted their approval, using retweet petitions and tagging the NFL, Billboard reports. No word yet from the NFL, which has yet to make its Super Bowl halftime plans known. Last year, the official announcement that Justin Timberlake would play the Super Bowl halftime was made in late October.

Davidson talks 'dope' Grande proposal

"SNL's" Pete Davidson is opening up about his engagement to pop singer Ariana Grande. Davidson tells Variety that he proposed to her in a very low-key way. “I didn’t want to do something corny,” he says about his June proposal. "We were in bed hanging, after watching a movie. I was like, ‘Will you marry me?’ It was really dope.” Davidson says he wasn’t sure if she’d say yes. “I’m still convinced she’s blind or hit her head really hard. Something is going to happen, and she’s going to be like, ‘What the (expletive) is this thing doing around?’ For right now, it’s rocking.”

Is former "Today" show anchor Matt Lauer headed back to television? Page Six reports Lauer was spotted at a NYC restaurant chatting up fans, and was overhead telling them, "I’ve been busy being a dad. But don’t worry, I’ll be back on TV.”
