Jack White premieres live concert film on Amazon
Jack White’s sold-out concert May 30 at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., was recorded and will be released as a concert film Sept. 21, exclusively via Amazon Prime Video. A six-song live EP with highlights from the show also will debut only on Amazon Music on the same date. The film, titled “Jack White: Kneeling at the Anthem D.C.,” was directed by Emmett Malloy, who collaborated with the White Stripes for their 2009 documentary “Under Great White Northern Lights.” The concert that was filmed was part of White’s tour in support of his third solo album “Boarding House Reach.”
Norm Macdonald says he's glad #MeToo movement 'has slowed down a little bit'
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter to promote his new Netflix show, comedian Norm Macdonald made some statements that some see as problematic, at best. "I'm happy the #MeToo movement has slowed down a little bit. It used to be, 'One hundred women can't be lying.' And then it became, 'One woman can't lie.' And that became, 'I believe all women,'" he said, adding that he thought Chris Hardwick "got the blunt end of the stick there." Macdonald, who was once a "Weekend Update" host on "Saturday Night Live," also seemed to defend disgraced comedians Louis C.K. and Rosanne Barr. "There are very few people that have gone through what they have, losing everything in a day," Macdonald said, referring to C.K.'s sexual assault allegations and Barr's racist tweets. "Of course, people will go, 'What about the victims?' But you know what? The victims didn't have to go through that," he said. The reaction to these comments quickly earned backlash on Twitter from everyone from Cher to feminist author Roxane Gay.
