The Cirque du Soleil-themed performance by former Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. — or “Twinkle toes” as he was called by a judge Monday night — kept him and partner Lindsay Arnold safe for another week on ABC’s “Dancing with the Stars.”

The two danced a Charleston based on the show “Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities” and earned a score of 23 out of 30 — not the perfect score Olympic gymnast Laurie Hernandez achieved with her Michael Jackson jazz routine, but enough to win over the judges and viewers to return for week five.

Singer and actress Jana Kramer, of Rochester Hills, and her partner Gleb Savchenko were also safe. With a score of 23, they tied with Johnson for their foxtrot to the Beatles’ “Here Comes the Sun,” based on the Cirque show “Love.”

In Tuesday’s double elimination, Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds with partner Allison Holker and Vanilla Ice with partner Witney Carson were sent home. Edmonds had the lowest score this week with 18 for his tango, while Vanilla Ice danced a Viennese waltz and tied in 6th place with Johnson and Kramer at 23.

After hearing the results, Edmonds said he did the show to make his mom proud.

“I did the foxtrot, I did the jive, I did the Argentine tango — I don’t know what that was I did it last night,” he said, laughing, “But I had an amazing time.”

Vanilla Ice also expressed his gratitude for being on the show.

“This is a magical experience. I love it,” he said. “It’s great. Dancing makes you happy, and this is just a happy experience.”

On the subject of happiness, Tuesday’s one-hour results show also contained a marriage proposal. Professional dancers and real-life couple Sasha Farber and Emma Slater danced to Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are.” Afterward, co-host Tom Bergeron turned the mic over to Farber, saying he thought Farber could host the show.

Farber proceeded to get down on one knee and ask Slater to marry him. Looking completely shocked, she said yes — as streamers rained down.

Slater gave a nice nudge to Farber last week in an interview with FOX411. When asked if they were going get married, the 27-year-old said she “would like to.”

“I feel like it’s soon,” she said. “I’ve been hinting pretty heavily and if you tell all your girlfriends to go tell and him (that) I think I was ready for marriage now, then I think that’s a pretty strong hint. He probably gets it.”

Farber is paired with actress Terra Jole, while Slater was partnered with former Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who was sent home last week.

Judge Len Goodman will also be off the show for a few weeks to appear on Britain’s “Strictly Come Dancing.”

Nine couples remain in the competition that returns Monday at 8 p.m.
