Issa Rae, Amy Goodman speak at U-M MLK event
Actress, writer and producer Issa Rae will join award-winning investigative journalist Amy Goodman as keynote lecturers at the University of Michigan’s Martin Luther King Symposium at 10 a.m. Monday.
Rae was nominated for a Golden Globe for lead actress in a comedy series award for her role in the HBO series “Insecure,” which she also writes and is executive producer. Rae, a Los Angeles native, is also the creator and star of the web series “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl.”
Goodman is best known as the host of the global news radio program “Democracy Now!”
