Do you have the vocal chops and charisma it takes to be the next "American Idol?" 

Representatives from the reality singing competition will be in Detroit Tuesday auditioning hopefuls at the TCF Center (formerly Cobo Center). 

Those interested in auditioning should register in advance at americanidol.com. You can also audition online from anywhere by uploading a video to the website. 

In order to be eligible to compete on the show, singers must be 15 to 28 years old and a legal resident of the United States. Other rules and stipulations can be found at americanidol.com. 

Season 18 of "American Idol" is set to air on ABC in 2020. The show is judged by music stars Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
