Since the late ’80s, Showtime Clothing owner Dan Tatarian has been dressing rock musicians in Detroit and helping them cultivate a look. The store, at 5708 Woodward in Detroit, has struggled in recent years and the M-1 Rail construction has hurt business even more, says Tatarian, because the construction has eliminated Showtime’s street parking.

A few of the store’s biggest supporters have set up an online fund at gofundme.com/ermc88 to help Showtime Clothing stay open.

“I’m getting a lot of love out there,” says Tatarian, who says he may have to close as early as the end of this year. “Even if I do close, I’m happy to see (this). It’s not just me out there, there’s a lot of businesses being affected by (the construction).”
