Detroit’s Campus Martius Park site of UM, MSU pep rally
The temperature Wednesday will be Green & White or Maize & Blue — depending on your preference — in downtown Detroit’s Campus Martius Park for the Big Game Detroit Rally. The event will kickoff a series of events leading to the annual football game between Michigan State University and the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor’s Big House on Saturday.
The lawn at Campus Martius Park, 800 Woodward, has become a Blue and Green gridiron where participants will compete in field games, such as team flag football, tug-of-war and sack races. Celebrity announcers will make play-by-play game calls during the competitions. Games and competitions will be coordinated and refereed by Come Play Detroit.
Participants will have a chance to win two tickets for the MSU vs. U-M Party Bus on (bus ride only) Saturday from Royal Oak and Livonia/Novi to Ann Arbor ($110 value).
All activities, for fans and U-M/MSU alumni participants, are free (unless otherwise stated):
11 a.m.: Pep rally with cheerleaders and marching bands from Denby and Cass Technical high schools.
