Today’s fashion colors in shoes, handbags and clothing can come straight into our kitchens, living rooms and bedrooms. With the array of colorful options for fall, you can take your decorating cues from your local boutique this season. Pulling out the autumn shades into your home will have you feeling coordinated from top to bottom, from your handbag to your house.

Rich and deep

From manicures to throw pillows, the colors of fall are earthy and rich. Plate up your holiday meals on tables topped paired with anything in eggplant. For less depth, try a rich and fruity garnet to pair with cold nights and warm red wine. In the dining room, try adding garnet-colored salad plates to your table or table linens for the perfect mix of red with a hint of purple. A perennial favorite, one of the most popular autumn colors is in the green family.

The richest and deepest is a deep inky teal so dark that it borders on black. From a coat to a couch, this shade has a jewel-like quality. Try a pair of throw pillows on the sofa to pull in this richest of peacock shades. In the bedroom, add a pair of deep teal Keller faux Mongolian fur pillows (www.overstock.com) on the bed for a sumptuous look and tempting texture.

Deep green and moss green shades reflect the changing hues outdoors and can easily be replicated inside your home. Pick up the earthy moss color on your table with a set of Granada glassware (www.anthropologie.com). For a clear, rich green, try setting your Thanksgiving table this year with a nod to nature with the Marta deep green tableware (www.horchow.com). The cranberry sauce will never look better.

Newest neutrals

Whether paired with a dark shade or kept as a neutral, two shades keep coming up again and again in both fashion and home. The first is taupe. Sandy and warm, shades of taupe are both sensual and simple, yet pair beautifully with other colors, looking as good on your nails and they do on your sofa.

The other standout color this fall is gray. Going from medium gray to deepest pewter, gray is a neutral that can look warm and fit in anywhere. Replace summer barstools with the sophisticated Eva barstool that features gray tailored-looking tweed fabric with deep espresso legs (www.pierone.com). You’ll find these barstools look smart and can be tucked under a kitchen counter or simply placed against a wall for extra seating.

Metallics

No matter what you opt for this fall, try some of the incredible metallic colors. Top of the list? Copper. In the kitchen, don’t resist plating your holiday meals on plates set atop a copper-toned plate charger, or serving your favorite cheese board with copper topped cheese knives (www.Williams-Sonoma.com).

In the bedroom, the Bianca bedding set is a beautiful combination of copper and blue. Pair with copper-toned Barbwire sheets, and you have a warm and welcoming bedroom (www.wayfair.com).
