Jolly Pumpkin beer company of Dexter will open a bar and restaurant next year at 441 W. Canfield in Detroit.

The brewery, which also has restaurants in Ann Arbor and Traverse City, announced the news Tuesday via publicist Promote Michigan. With longstanding Motor City Brewing Works and Traffic Jam and Snug nearby, plus HopCat set to open in November, this addition will help the area of Canfield near Woodward grow as a craft beer pocket in Midtown Detroit.

Jolly Pumpkin's Midtown location will serve all of Northern United Brewing Company's brands, including North Peak Beer, Civilized Spirits, Bonafide Wines and, of course, Jolly Pumpkin craft beers. The pub menu will have pizza, truffle fries and other foods made with as many local supplies as possible, including the nearby Avalon Bakery, McClure's Pickles and Calder Dairy.

The soonest Jolly Pumpkin's Detroit location will open is early 2015.
