Looking to start the big meal off right — or a refreshing way to relax after? Here are three good cocktails for your Thanksgiving celebration.

Cranberry Champagne Cocktail

1 ounce cranberry juice (sweetened)

1 wedge lime

Champagne or sparkling wine

Cranberries (frozen)

In a chilled champagne flute, add cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime. Top off the glass with champagne. Garnish with 3 or 4 cranberries. Makes 1.

Pomegranate Margaritas

1/4 cup bottled pomegranate juice, plus seeds for garnish

1/3 cup Tequila Blanco

1/8 cup Triple Sec

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

12 ounces ice cubes

Margarita salt, optional

Combine all ingredients, except salt, in a blender and pulse until frothy and well combined. Rim glasses with lime juice using a lime wedge then dip in margarita salt, drop some fresh pomegranate seeds in the bottom of the glass and pour margarita mix over the top. Makes 2.

Hard Cider Sangria

1 cup quartered and thinly sliced unpeeled green, yellow and red apples

1 navel orange — quartered and thinly sliced crosswise

1 cup apple juice, chilled

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1/4 cup apple brandy

One 22-ounce bottle hard apple cider, chilled

Ice

In a pitcher, combine the apples with the orange, apple juice, lemon juice and brandy. Just before serving, add the hard cider. Serve in tall glasses over ice. Serves 4.
