Beautiful images came from Escanaba to Eastpointe.

There were photos of huge gardens with interesting vignettes and smaller side gardens, packed full of annuals and perennials. There were patio gardens, fairy gardens and vertical gardens overflowing with greenery and color.

There were so many amazing submissions to the 2015 Homestyle Garden Photo Contest — more than 600 this year — it was honestly hard to pick a weekly winner. But we did.

And this year’s grand prize winner is Barbara O’Keefe of Livonia. O’Keefe’s photo, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” shows her beautiful, textured garden at dusk.

O’Keefe says every year her garden keeps expanding. “It consists of a mixture of perennials, some annuals and lots of greenery,” including hostas, zebra grass, buttercups that bloom in June, and a variety of daylilies, phlox, astilbe, black eyed susans and beebalm.

“My daughters always joke with me that it looks like something out of a fairytale at night with the lights that line the pathways and the fireflies floating above the grass.”

O’Keefe will receive a $100 gift to card to English Gardens.
