Gardenviews marks 21 years, changes ownership
Gardenviews, a beloved home and garden store in downtown Northville, is celebrating its 21st anniversary with a bang – a new owner.
After two decades in the hands of owners Lori Jermont and Lou Mascolo, the duo is retiring and recently sold the business to Carol Peretto, co-owner of Northville’s Salvaged. Mascolo and Jermont will officially hand off the baton to Peretto on Saturday during their annual anniversary block party, which runs from 6-11 p.m. with Billy Mack & the Juke Joint Johnnies.
Selling their “baby,” as they call the store, was a tough decision, say Mascolo and Jermont, but it was time.
“It’s been a long and tough decision,” says Mascolo. “We still love it. We just came off our best holiday season in over 10 years, however the physical and time demands told us that 21 years is enough.”
Peretto says she plans to keep Gardenviews very much the same, though she’ll slowly integrate in vintage pieces from Salvaged, which closes in August.
“I’m a loyal customer (too) so I want to keep its integrity,” Peretto says.
The anniversary party begins Friday with everything marked down 21 percent; it runs through Sunday.
