Clarkston home furnishing stores changes name, focus

Harrison Interiors, formerly KH Home, in downtown Clarkston offers a variety of vignettes to show how pieces work together.

KH Home in downtown Clarkston has a new name – Harrison Interiors – and look. Once more retail-focused with jewelry and general retail items, owner and interior designer Kevin Harrison says he refocused to store to hone in on his passion: interior design. He’s now selling more furniture and home products. Eight vignettes have been set up throughout the 4,400-square-foot store’s two floors and he’s gotten a great response from customers. “Outside of the Michigan Design Center, I feel that we are fairly unique in the Metro Detroit area – certainly in Northern Oakland County,” says Harrison in an email. One cool new feature Harrison Interiors offers is a sofa fitting service. Sofas by Norwalk Furniture can be customized down to the firmness of the cushions and Harrison has three test sofas that customers can try out at home. Harrison Interiors is at 27 S. Main Street. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call (248) 625-1655.

HGTV isn’t revealing many details at this point, but the sweepstakes will begin this fall. “We’re not at the point of having official information pulled together for media, but we plan to hold an open house in September,” says Kristin Alm, HGTV’s director of corporate communications, in an email. The “Urban Oasis” sweepstakes will begin Oct. 4 and run through Nov. 22. The winner will be announced in December.
