Lilac Pop Studio offers local photographic images

Wake up your walls with fine art photos by local photographer and fashion and jewelry designer Janna Coumoundouros. Her creative images, which are available in a variety of sizes, can be printed on metallic paper and canvas. Framed pieces are available upon appointment at her studio, while others are for sale at her husband’s award-winning restaurant, the Conserva, in Ferndale. MDC partnering with Gleaners for biannual Sample Sale

The biannual Sample Sale at Michigan Design Center, slated for 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. March 10 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 11, will feature up to 80 percent off designer floor samples of furniture, rugs, lighting and other home furnishings. A donation of a nonperishable food item or a cash contribution to Gleaners Community Food Bank is requested for admission. This year marks the 40th anniversary for MDC and Gleaners, which were both founded in April of 1977. “We’re so happy to be partnering with Gleaners again for Sample Sale. In past sales, we have been able to collect enough donations to provide thousands of meals for hungry people in Michigan, and we hope people will come support them again during this sale,” says Susan Todebush, general manager and executive vice president in a press release. Winter linen sale goes through March at Nancy’s Linens
