Landscaping trends — what’s in?

If you think the grass is always greener, you may be right, according to the 2017 U.S. Houzz Landscaping Trends Survey that found front yards are making a statement. In fact, 2 in 5 reported their new front yards are very or extremely different from others in the neighborhood. More than half of those updating their front yards say that beds or borders, shrubs and perennials are the most important features of their home’s curb appeal. Nearly half of those improving their outdoor spaces are updating lighting, with most choosing LEDs, and one in five homeowners are choosing “smart” lighting that can be controlled via a mobile device or computer.
