Boston-Edison Annual Home Preservation Fair is Saturday
The 2018 Historic Boston-Edison Association will host its 15th Annual Home Preservation Fair from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Seminary in Detroit. This event offers those with older or historic homes a chance to discuss their repair and preservation needs with pre-screened contractors and home repair specialists familiar with these types of properties. The fair is free and open to the public. Free parking is provided via the Linwood gated entrance of Sacred Heart Seminary, located at 2701 Chicago Boulevard at Linwood. Head out for the Greenmead Garden Walk
The Friends of Greenmead will hold its 29th Annual Garden Walk in Livonia from 10 a.m- 4 p.m. on June 23. Five privately owned gardens will be featured along with the Simmons-Hill House Gardens. New this year will be garden-themed vendors and flutists. Tickets ($9 in advance, $10 day of the event) are available at the Civic Center Library, 32777 Five Mile Road and Livonia City Hall (5th floor, Community Resources), 33000 Civic Center Drive. Be inspired by the Grosse Pointe Garden Tour
The 27th Annual Grosse Pointe Garden Tour sponsored by the Grosse Pointe Garden Center takes place from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on June 22 and June 23. Visit six private gardens in the Grosse Pointes as well as the Trial Gardens and Veterans Garden at the War Memorial. Get ideas for water features, hardscapes, new annuals, perennials and landscaping. Private gardens will feature master gardeners and artists and a Garden Shoppe.
