Welcome Mat: Tootie and Tallulah's moving to new Berkley location
Haberman Fabrics offers second week of sewing camp
Do you have a child that likes to sew or would like to learn? Now is his or her chance to learn. Haberman Fabrics in Clawson will begin its second week of sewing camp on July 30. Children will learn not only how to operate a sewing machine (including threading a bobbin) during the three-day camp but also complete a project. "What’s important to me is they learn to thread the machine and how to operate the machine," said Cindy Boese. More than eight kids attended the first session of sewing camp in June and Boese said they decided to offer another session after several kids asked about it. The cost is $125. Tootie and Tallulah's moving to new Berkley location
Don't worry, Tootie and Tallulah fans. Yes, the adorable home decor and consignment shop on Coolidge in Berkley is closing one of its two locations but the good news is it'll have much roomier digs, still in downtown Berkley. "I'm combining both locations under one room," said owner Jeri Brand. Brand says her new location, located in former Baker's drug store at 2600 West 12 Mile, will have double the room and will still feature a mix of old and new home decor, art and fair trade goods. "We’ll always have the old with the new," said Brand, who has been in business for eight years. And Southern Green's Kelly Green also will operate a store within a store with plants in the new location, including a terrarium bar. The new Tootie and Tallulah's will have a soft opening at the end of summer with a grand re-opening sometime this fall.
