Tranquil Path

As with many gardens, Barbara Taylor’s has evolved over time. Originally, the Rochester property featured a wild untamed portion of the yard before her husband cleared the space, created the design and the beds, and laid the flagstone path. Now their select perennials include coral bells, Shasta daisies, Black-eyed susans, asiatic lilies, coneflowers, spiderwort and hardy geraniums, anchored by meidiland roses, hydrangeas, peonies, hosta and more. “I truly enjoy the time I spend in our garden. It is a source of great pleasure and satisfaction particularly when the work is done!” says Taylor via email. Her “Tranquil Path” image is this week’s winner. She’ll win a free home décor or gardening book and be a finalist for the grand prize, a $200 English Gardens gift card. To enter your best garden photos, go to detroitnews.com/gardenphotos.
