The Tiny Homes Detroit Community is hosting a progressive tour of their six new tiny homes.

The Cass Community Tiny Homes Tour will be held from Aug. 30 to Sep. 2 offering the only opportunity for the public to tour their six new tiny homes before they’re occupied. Tickets are $75.00 each (2 for $100). Each group of guests reserves a designated time for their tour. Tickets include a progressive meal provided by Cass Catering chef Matt Prentice, one of Cass Community Publishing House‘s four available titles including Tiny Homes in a Big City by Rev. Faith Fowler, and a donation to the Tiny Homes project. Reservations are required and can be made at casscommunity.org.

Create a doggy dream yard with these tips

You can start by skipping artificial turf and picking the right plants and grasses. For instance, lavender repels fleas and moths. Enjoy a Textile Takeover festival

Mutual Adoration, a Detroit-based design firm, and POST, their flagship store, will hold their inaugural Textile Takeover festival, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon – 5 Sunday. This family-friendly indoor/outdoor event celebrates the work of fiber and textile artists, crafters and makers. The outdoor craft fair will feature products by more than 25 local textile artists, demonstrations, and free and affordable drop-in workshops. Guest artists will offer classes on dyeing, screen printing, weaving and felting. Arts, Beats & Eats returns with juried art show, art fair

The 21st Annual Ford Arts, Beats & Eats returns to downtown Royal Oak Aug. 31 – Sept. 3. The festival will feature one of the nation’s top Juried Fine Arts Shows featuring more than 130 artists, chart-topping musical headliners, more than 50 restaurants and caterers with delicious food offerings, and family fun and entertainment.
