Last year was a whirlwind of excitement and change for me, starting with becoming the new steward of Nell Hill’s. I have enjoyed writing these weekly posts and being able to connect with you over these fun topics. With one year under my belt, I wanted to look back at some of my favorite moments and posts as we look forward to an exciting new year.

The wallpaper comeback

2019 saw the revival of wallpaper and I could not have loved it more. The Thibaut and Schumacher brands’ patterns are truly unbeatable. In fact, I am thinking of bringing this particular trend with me into 2020 as I wallpaper some closets in my home.

Amalfi Coast with Will Brown

I had the pleasure of working with designer Will Brown this year to bring his Amalfi Coast adventure right here. We had such a good time finding accessories and art to re-create the magic of his vacation through color and design. He truly transformed part of our shop into an oasis.

Animal prints’ big moment

Things got wild with all our pops of animal print. I think my favorite this year was the beautiful and versatile antelope print we used on everything from tablecloths to bedding. As a textile fanatic it was delightful to be a part of bringing in these new patterns into the shop.

Dana Gibson

Dana Gibson’s style is so bright and cheerful, it brings a refreshing new look. Being able to have her meet everyone was such a treat.

Ski lodge Christmas look

There were so many special Christmas looks in the store this year, and our visuals team pulled out all the stops to make show-stopping displays. Even though it was hard to pick a favorite, the ski lodge look has to be my No. 1 choice. Not only did it have all the plaid I dream of every winter season, but the whimsical addition of woodland creatures really pushed it over the top! It’s also a great look to carry over the next few cozy winter months.
