Aromatherapy, oils discussed at lecture
Essential oils are natural compounds found in seeds, roots, bark and flowers. They’re used for everything from treating anxiety and depression to preventing cancer.
Dr. Joseph Plant, an expert in essential oils and a graduate of Harvard Medical School, will discuss essential oils in a free lecture at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Washtenaw Community College’s Towsley Auditorium in the Morris Lawrence Building, 4800 E. Huron River Drive.
Plant, who specializes in scientific research using essential oils, will share his research on the oils and the future of aromatherapy in functional and integrative medicine.
