A citizen walking a dog Saturday found a woman's dead body lying in a playground on Detroit's east side, police said.

Investigators are working to identify the woman, Detroit Police Officer Dan Donakowski said.

The body was found at about 11 a.m. Saturday in the Sasser Playground near Moross and Camley.

"There's not much information at this point," Donakowski said. "It's a white female who appears to be in her 20s. She's a Jane Doe right now.

"The witness was walking a dog and observed a female lying on the ground," Donakowski said. "It appears at this point to be a drug overdose."

Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Fatal Squad at (313) 596-1462.
