The Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office has extended the deadline to March 1 for victims or their family members to apply for compensation related to the 2012 fungal meningitis outbreak.
The office of U.S. Rep. Mike Bishop, R-Rochester, said the Massachusetts AG recently extended the deadline for applications from Dec. 15 to March 1.
After the AG’s office verifies a case, victims are eligible to receive $25,000 with the option to submit additional documents to receive more.
Michigan led the nation with at least 264 cases of fungal meningitis and 19 deaths connected to the injections compounded at the now-defunct New England Compounding Center.
