Detroit police are urging Facebook users not to view or share a pornographic video that is circulating nationally on the social media site.

The video is said to include a sexual encounter between a child and a man.

Viewing or sharing child pornography is a felony, said Jennifer Watson, a spokeswoman for the Detroit Police Department.

The department advises anyone who receives the video to delete it.

Watson said Detroit police started receiving reports about the video on Friday from across the country.

Federal authorities have been notified.

Detroit police are investigating whether any other agencies should be informed, Watson said.
