1 shot, 1 arrested after fight in Highland Park
A 20-year-old man was shot and a 23-year-old man is in police custody after a fight ended in gunfire Wednesday afternoon in Highland Park.
The shooting took place about 3 p.m. on the 170 block of Cortland, said city spokeswoman Marli Blackman. The area is west of Woodward and south of Davison.
Trouble started when the victim and his friends allegedly jumped the suspect, who was armed and is a CPL holder. Once he was able to get himself free, the suspect pulled his gun and shot the victim in his "lower torso."
The victim is in stable condition at last report. The suspect was arrested at the scene. Police will continue their investigation.
