Woman critical after Detroit hit-and-run

An unidentified woman is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver Friday on Gratiot at Young Street.

Detroit Police described the victim as a woman in her 40s. No additional information was available Saturday on her identity.

The woman was crossing Gratiot at about 6:35  when she was struck by a grey or silver 2007 Chevy Malibu traveling southbound on Gratiot. The driver continued southbound after striking the victim, according to police. 

The woman was taken by medics to a hospital where she is currently listed in critical condition.
