Wayne man charged in fatal Inkster shooting

A 26-year-old Wayne man was charged Monday in connection with the fatal shooting of an Inkster man earlier this month.

Cleve Allen Ransaw is charged with shooting 26-year-old Joseph Kenneth Benson and taking cash from him following an argument the night of Sept. 13.

Inkster police were dispatched to the area of Western near Oakwood and found Benson's body. He had been shot multiple times, according to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office. 

Ransaw was charged with first-degree murder, felony murder, armed robbery, felonious assault, felon in possession of a firearm and four counts of felony firearm. He was arraigned Friday in 22nd District Court in Inkster.

Ransaw's probable cause conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday before Judge Sabrina Johnson. Ransaw was remanded to jail.
