UM plans report on sexual misconduct
Ann Arbor — The University of Michigan plans to issue a new report on sexual misconduct this fall as part of an effort to fight campus sexual assault.
The Ann Arbor News reports the school also is launching a sexual assault prevention campaign and hiring an employee to streamline the management of sexual misconduct complaints through the Office of Student Conflict Resolution.
The U.S. Education Department has revealed a list of dozens of colleges under investigation for the way they handle sexual abuse allegations. Michigan State and University of Michigan were among them.
Earlier this month, the University of Michigan said its Central Student Government was working with a White House campaign to help fight campus sexual assault. Michigan State University also is working with the effort unveiled by the Obama administration.
