Former WXYZ anchor Stephen Clark to host show on 104.3

Stephen Clark will host a new weekday morning show on WOMC-FM (104.3), shortly after retiring from WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), the radio station said Wednesday.
The former evening news anchor will host 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. on weekdays during "104.3 WOMC Mornings with Stephen Clark and ... " His co-host will be announced April 6.
The morning show debuts on April 2, one month after his last segment on Channel 7.
Clark tweeted the news by writing: "I’ve been going to bed at 4 am for nearly 40 years...this is gonna be an adjustment."
“... Only the legendary WOMC could have brought me out of retirement,” Clark told the radio station. “I have a unique relationship with the Detroit community from my time on television, and I’m looking forward to deepening that connection via daily conversations and direct interactions with listeners every morning on 104.3 WOMC.”
Debbie Kenyon, senior vice president and market manager of Entercom Detroit, told the station she is thrilled to have Clark open a new chapter of the station's history.
“Stephen’s connection with our local community, his personality and love of music make him a great fit to take the helm of the new WOMC morning show,” she said.
When Clark announced his television retirement in December, he cited as his reason his desire to spend more time with his family, particularly his granddaughter Scarlet, who has spinal muscular atrophy. He also said he would work on his music and songwriting at his other home in Nashville, Tennessee.
Listeners in Detroit can tune in to 104.3 WOMC on-air or live stream on the Radio.com app.
