The U.S Postal Inspection Service is investigating the attempted hijacking of a delivery truck at gunpoint where the suspects took the keys and cell phone of the driver, authorities said.

One of the unknown suspects allegedly armed with a black revolver approached the truck on Aug. 24 at a post office branch in the 16500 block of Joy Road in Detroit around 4 a.m.

One of the suspects was described as a black male in his 20s with closely braided hair, "buck teeth" and approximately 5 foot 8 inches wearing a black hat, a yellow-hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dark shoes. One of his eyes was "yellowed," authorities said.

A description of the other suspect wasn't immediately available but he drove a 2000 to 2005 grey or silver Honda Civic.

Citizens with information about this attempted hijacking are urged to call the postal service at 1-877-876-2455 and state "representative" at the voice prompt.
