Man critically injured in fiery I-94 crash

An overnight crash on Interstate 94 has left a man in critical condition after his car burst into flames early Friday as he was exiting the highway, officials said.

Lt. Mike Shaw of the Michigan State Police said the accident occurred around 1:30 a.m. and that the driver was moving "too fast for road conditions."

The unidentified driver was in the eastbound lane exiting onto the Southfield Freeway in Allen Park when the accident happened.

The crash is still under investigation, Shaw said.
