Detroit launching zero-interest program to repair homes

Associated Press

Detroit — Detroit is launching a zero-interest loan program to help repair homes and boost the city’s neighborhoods

The office of Mayor Mike Duggan says in a statement the program will “empower homeowners to invest in their homes and neighborhoods.”

The program will offer access to an $8 million loan pool to support home repairs. A kickoff event is Tuesday at Joshua Temple Church of God in Christ.

A website for the program says applications will be posted online after midday Tuesday.
