Teen shot on Detroit’s west side
A 15-year-old boy was shot Monday in front of a home on the city’s west side, police said.
The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. in the 7700 block of Minock and stemmed from a physical altercation between a group of “known individuals” and the victim, police said.
“A vehicle pulled up and the suspect fired shots from the car,” Detroit police Sgt. Eren Stephens said in a statement Wednesday. “There was an exchange of gunfire.”
The shooter escaped in the vehicle, Stephens said.
The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police continue to investigate.
